Our alumnus Tushant graduated with a master’s degree in information technology and is an Embedded Software Engineer at ‘ENRX IPT GmbH’.
Tell us what you are doing now and what your professional life is like.
I am currently working as an Embedded Software Engineer at ENRX IPT GmbH. My role involves developing software for multicore processors and controllers, working across multiple platforms including Linux, RTOS, and baremetal application development. Over the past two years, I have been involved in a project from its inception, developing software and assisting in the development of the main controller board. My responsibilities also include writing design, test, and functional description documents while developing the software.
What makes your industry so exciting?
The field of wireless power transfer, particularly through induction, is incredibly exciting because it represents a significant step forward in sustainable technology. Working on projects that involve dynamic and contactless power supply systems for vehicles, and contributing to the development of high-efficiency, zero-emission solutions, gives me a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
How do you see your future career? What career paths, advancement opportunities or areas of expertise would you like to pursue in the next few years?
In the future, I aim to continue advancing within the software division, focusing on improving product efficiency and innovating within the field. I see myself taking on more leadership roles, driving significant projects that push the boundaries of our technology and contribute to the next generation of wireless power solutions.
The application process is always exciting. How do you remember the period immediately after graduation? Were there any special challenges?
After graduation, the application process was both exciting and challenging. Adapting to the job market in a new country and understanding the different expectations was a significant hurdle. However, my determination to find a role that truly matched my passion and skills helped me navigate through this phase successfully.
What did your studies teach you that has helped you in the working world?
My studies provided me with a strong foundation in problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to work on complex projects. The emphasis on project-based learning at SRH University Heidelberg equipped me with practical skills and the ability to adapt to various technical environments, which has been invaluable in my professional life.
It's been a long time: How did you decide on your degree programme
I learned about SRH University Heidelberg from a colleague in India who was planning to pursue a Master's in Information Technology. I was impressed by the course structure, especially the new subjects and the focus on project-based learning, which aligned perfectly with my career goals and interests.
What made your studies at SRH University Heidelberg special?
The innovative curriculum that emphasized practical, hands-on learning made my studies at SRH University Heidelberg special. The dedicated faculty, particularly Prof. Gotscheber, played a crucial role in shaping my academic journey. Additionally, I am grateful for the support from SRH through scholarships like Stibet and Erasmus+ for my Master thesis in Sweden, as well as the BARI scholarship from the Baltic Science Network Mobility Programme for Research Internships. These opportunities significantly enhanced my academic experience and development.
What experiences would you like to pass on to students or young alumni on their journey?
I would encourage students and young alumni to pursue their passions and not settle for a career just for financial reasons. It's essential to find joy and satisfaction in the work you do. Embrace continuous learning, be open to new challenges, and never underestimate the importance of resilience and perseverance in achieving your professional goals. Taking advantage of the resources and support available at SRH, such as scholarships and mentorship, can significantly enhance your academic and professional journey. Focus on building a strong foundation and always strive to grow both personally and professionally.
